Hairline Correction – Are You a Candidate For This Procedure?
Hairline correction is the process of lowering or re-positioning a patient’s hairline to create a more natural appearance. The best candidates for this procedure are people who have lost too much hair, as well as those whose natural hairline is higher than they would like it to be. This is an alternative to traditional hair transplantation and is a popular choice for women and men with a high forehead that would benefit from a less prominent or recessed hairline.강남헤어라인
The first step in determining if you are a candidate for this procedure is to schedule a consultation with a reputable hair restoration surgeon who can offer you solutions that will best suit your needs. Your surgeon will take into consideration your desired results, your hairline symmetry, your overall hair density and your age when he or she is planning your treatment. While it may be tempting to over-correct your hairline, a surgeon who is not a specialist in this type of surgery can end up making your problem worse by creating an unnaturally dramatic peaks or attempting to add more fullness than your natural head of hair actually has.
Some patients who come in for hairline corrections have undergone a previous hair transplant surgery and are dissatisfied with the outcome. This can be due to a number of factors, including poor placement or an incorrect hairline design. Many times, these procedures were done without a skilled eye and the patient ended up with a result that looks unnatural or out of place with their other facial features.
Often, these patients have very little donor hair available and are limited in their options. This is particularly true if they have light hair and skin color and are trying to correct a transplant that is too straight or too low.
Other times, hairline correction is required because the initial transplant was performed at a young age and is destined to be a victim of progressive hair loss. This can be a difficult situation to reverse and, in some cases, it is necessary to fill in minimal anterior recession with grafts in order to prevent an even more serious outcome down the road.
A patient’s natural hairline should fall on an imaginary line drawn through the outer corner of their eyes. The hairline should never extend beyond this line as it looks unnatural and is very easy to spot. The angulation of the follicles is also an important factor to consider when designing a natural hairline (Fig. 9). Having small grafts placed at the wrong angle will make the hairline look unnatural.
A good hairline can be restored through a combination of techniques, such as follicular unit transplantation and scalp excision with forehead advancement. FUT is the most popular technique for lowering and correcting a hairline, but there are other options as well. For example, shaved hairline simulation or Scalp Micropigmentation, also known as SMP, can be used to achieve the same results as a follicular unit transplant. This method is becoming increasingly popular because it offers a permanent solution that requires less maintenance and upkeep than other procedures.모우다의원
